Wisdom Teeth removal and Extractions You Can Trust

Call Now

Do you have a tooth that’s causing you pain? If a tooth is badly damaged or decayed, the best option may be to remove it. Trust West One Family Dental, experts with over 30 years of experience, to help extract your teeth with precision and care. There are three common reasons for a tooth to need an extraction: infection, decay, and wisdom teeth. If a tooth is badly infected or decayed, it is sometimes non-restorable, and it may be better to remove it altogether to ease the pain. Call us today to schedule an appointment!

Reasons For Tooth Extractions

Wisdom teeth are commonly removed to prevent overcrowding in your mouth. Many people’s wisdom teeth may grow sideways into their mouth instead of erupting through the gum. Besides being painful, this can damage the root of nearby teeth and cause other teeth to shift and lead to hard-to-reach spots to clean, decay, and a crooked bite. Wisdom teeth are commonly removed preventatively, but we will evaluate each person’s mouth individually.

Our Wisdom Tooth Removal and Extraction Process:

CONSULTATION AND X-RAYS: Depending on your case, we will schedule you for two appointments. The first appointment is a consultation where we will take X-rays or a 3D scan to get a comprehensive picture of the problem. The doctor will then discuss your X-rays or scan and explain your specific treatment plan. We try to do the same-day treatment as often as possible, but if we cannot, we will get you out of pain and schedule as soon as possible to resolve your issue.

EXTRACT THE PROBLEM TEETH: Usually, your second appointment is when the doctor will remove the problem teeth. We will make you comfortable with a local anesthetic, but if needed, we have other means of sedation to help make the process as pleasant as possible.

OPTIONAL FOLLOW-UP: After your extraction, a third appointment is optional if you are concerned about the way you are healing. You may also want to follow up if the extraction was of an infected tooth and would like to discuss your options for replacing it.
